Responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment instruments and supplies Oversees retrieving contaminated supplies and delivering sterile supplies maintaining inventory and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries examinations and procedures Tests and reports any issues or problems with the sterilization equipments Principal Accountabilities 1 Operates all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely prepares assembles and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to parameters of sterilization2 Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately including appropriate selection of cleaning agents and lubricants3 Correctly peelpacks suppliesinstruments wraps instruments for sterilization inspect each instrument for use function completeness and cleanliness4 Ensures safe care to patients staff and visitors adheres to all FSC policies procedures and standards and quality of service5 Cleans sets up sterilizes and distributes instruments as scheduled on each shift6 Handles and disposes of infectious waste appropriately7 Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate which may include the use of protective barriers as appropriate eg gloves masks gowns pocket masks andor safety glasses8 Performs other related duties as assignedrn
