Position Description Would you like to have a career with a collaborative diverse and dynamic mining company We have an exciting opportunity for you Our people division is growing and we are looking for an Industrial Hygienist at our Carlinoperation The successful candidate will provide leadership and be a resource in healthrelated matters develop systems and policies analyze train and promote health and safety awareness and loss prevention for employees and contractors At Nevada Gold Mines our vision is to be the worlds most valued gold mining business by finding developing and operating the best assets with the best people We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities Responsibilities Develop evaluate and coordinate IH initiatives by following Nevada Gold Mines Occupational Health and Hygiene process Implement evaluate and maintain IH standards policies and programs Develop and instruct on IH and MSHA topics with all employees including new hire annual refresher and toolbox training sessions as required Develop sampling plans and conduct sampling Collect maintain and analyze data using various methods of inferential statistics Maintain records develop reports and engage stakeholders in all matters related to industrial hygiene with a strong directive to control occupational health hazards Manage Cority formerly Medgate Managing iNet Gas Monitoring Stations and other IH computer applications Direct work of Industrial Hygiene Technicians Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene or related fieldor a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene required Proficiency with occupational exposure assessments sampling equipment and data interpretation required Professional certifications such as CIH CSP or the ability to obtain certification preferred Strong Microsoft Office skillsrequired Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the positionrequired Strong communication and public speaking skillsrequired Previous mining experience preferred Previous experience operating CorityMedgate EHS software systempreferred Knowledge of State and MSHA regulations and the ability to work cooperatively with regulatory agenciespreferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environmentrequired What We Can Offer You A comprehensive compensation package includinga competitive medical dental and vision plan with national provider networks a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match paid time off companysponsored medical clinics company match share purchase program and much more Work in a dynamic collaborative progressive and highperforming team Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer About Nevada Gold Mines Nevada Gold Mines NGM is a joint venture between Barrick 615 and Newmont 385 that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest goldproducing complex in the world NGM produces approximately 35 million ounces of gold a year The massive mining operation comprises eight mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities and hosts three of Barricks Tier One assets Carlin Cortez and Turquoise Ridge At NGM our mission is to be the worlds most valued gold and copper mining business by finding developing and owning the best assets with the best people to deliver sustainable returns for our owners and partners Thank you for your application however only those selected for an interview will be contacted
