Description Are you looking for a leadership role where you can integrate drilling expertise contractor management and operational execution to support safe efficient and responsible mining At Nevada Gold Mines NGM the Drill Services Superintendent provides critical leadership and governance over the district contractor drilling fleet ensuring drilling programs are planned and executed safely efficiently and in full compliance with NGM and Barrick policies standards and industry best practices This is a handson leadership role for an experienced drilling professional who thrives on operational problemsolving contractor performance technical governance and collaboration across geology and site operations The position plays a key role in implementing and continuously improving the Barrick Global Drilling Standard while ensuring drilling activities deliver fitforpurpose results that support business objectives At NGM we are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities The Drill Services Superintendent is a key leader in creating a Zero Harm workplace developing strong partnerships with contractors and internal stakeholders and driving operational excellence across drilling services Responsibilities Lead coach and mentor Drill Services teams and drilling contractors promoting a strong safety culture accountability and operational excellence Lead and enforce HSE performance across all drilling activities ensuring compliance with NGM Barrick and contractor requirements Own drilling contractor management including scope development performance oversight accountability and continuous improvement Provide technical governance of drilling programs to ensure safe fitforpurpose execution aligned with industry best practices Plan coordinate and oversee districtwide drilling programs and rig movements to ensure efficient and compliant delivery Maintain and support consistent application of the Barrick Global Drilling Standard across drilling operations Drive technical development within Geology and Drilling Services through coaching training mentoring and standardized drilling practices Partner with geologists contractors and site operations to develop drilling programs communicate risks resolve issues and optimize execution Review drilling requirements methodologies contractor capabilities operational risks and performance to ensure programs meet business and technical objectives Identify opportunities to improve drilling productivity quality safety cost performance and operational reliability Provide technical leadership and sound judgment when addressing complex drilling and operational challenges Establish clear expectations with contractors and internal teams and hold stakeholders accountable for safe and effective execution Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of standardized drilling practices across the district Champion a strong safety culture by leading by example and ensuring compliance with all HSE policies and procedures Qualifications Education High School Education Experience Minimum ten 10 years of relevant experience including mine drilling projects and commercial drilling contracts Minimum five 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing multiple drilling contracts andor drilling projects Strong working knowledge of drilling practices including Diamond Drilling DD Reverse Circulation RC and Sonic drilling Demonstrated experience managing drilling contractors and coordinating multiple drilling programs Proven ability to provide technical governance and operational leadership in a mining environment Strong understanding of drilling safety contractor management operational risk and industry best practices Demonstrated ability to coach develop and lead technical and operational teams What We Can Offer You A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical dental and vision plan with national provider networks a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match paid time off companysponsored medical clinics company match share purchase program and much more Work in a dynamic collaborative progressive and highperforming team Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization Opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of drilling standards and operational practices across Nevada Gold Mines Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer Core Values Company DNA Zero Harm Workplace Because our people are our greatest asset safety is of paramount importance It is inherent in every part of our business and is everyones responsibility to adhere to our safety standards As a business it is an integral requirement to ensure the safety of our employees contractors and communities in which
