Relocation Assistance based on eligibility As a Clinical Nurse Educator at Duke University Health System, you'll help shape the next generation of nurses by leading the Nurse Residency Program and supporting newly licensed nurses as they transition into practice. This highly visible role combines education, mentorship, and collaboration to develop confident, skilled clinicians who deliver exceptional patient care. Working closely with nursing leaders and academic partners, you'll play a key role in attracting, developing, and retaining top nursing talent while contributing to educational initiatives that support professional growth and clinical excellence across the health system. Salaried Position: Monday to Friday: This role may require occasional early morning or evening availability. Key responsibilities include: Leading system-wide NPCS orientation that supports safe practice, belonging, and professional confidence Creating and delivering engaging, learner-centered onboarding experiences that promote readiness and retention Partnering with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality orientation experience across all DUHS entities Supporting additional department and organization initiatives as assigned Participating in system-wide instruction of Basic Life Support BLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS courses The Clinical Nurse Educator CNE across the entities of Duke Medicine by providing staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leaders and researcher. Each supports the development of the bedside nurse, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the CNE is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within Duke Medicine to meet the needs of the diverse units within DUHS and the global needs of Duke Medicine.
