Arcadis is the worlds leading company delivering sustainable design engineering and consultancy solutions for natural and built assetsWe are more than 34000 people in over 30 countries dedicated toimproving quality of life Everyone has an important role to play With the power of many curious minds together we can solve the worlds most complex challenges and deliver more impact together Role description The Places Design Practice is currently seeking to locate a career minded Engineer who has gained proven work experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering urban development activities as part of buildings projects including but not limited to surface foul drainage utilities ground earthworks and highways interfacesThe role will support the delivery of Urban Development services through the Places Design Practice including working collaborating with crossGBA teams GEC and global Places expertise Experience in Industrial Manufacturing Tech Defence projects would be welcomed Role accountabilities Undertake the civil engineering design for projects contributing to sustainable development and apply Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work Work in collaboration with other design disciplines applying engineering solutions to ensure the integrity of the overall design Agree and implement project approach for collaboration with global design colleagues Prepare design solutions for various stages of a project including production of drawingsBIM models reports and specifications Attend project meetings and check the work of other team members to ensure accuracy Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design environmental and construction disciplines Identify and implement specific engineering management arrangements to complement Arcadis Integrated Management System requirements Prepare Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks to the Principal Designer Provide technical input to project Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members such as more junior engineers technicians and apprentices Qualifications Experience Degree qualified with Chartered or Incorporated status though candidates close to achieving chartered status will also be considered Relevant experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering urban development activities as part of buildings projects is essential including surface water foul water drainage highways and utility design Expertise in software design methods such as MicroDrainageInfoDrainage AutoCAD Civil 3D and integration with BIM models Strong understanding of applicable design codes standards and construction principles eg SuDS SfA DMRB Building Regulations Maintain and extend a theoretical approach to technology application in engineering practice and use a sound evidencebased approach to problemsolving Technically competent in fundamental design principles and have ability to apply manual calculation methods where software methods are not availableWhy ArcadisWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best We believe everyones contribution matters Its why we are pioneering a skillsbased approach where you can harness your unique experience and expertise to carve your career path and maximize the impact we can make togetherYoull do meaningful work and no matter what role youll be helping to deliver sustainable solutions for a more prosperous planet Make your mark on your career your colleagues your clients your life and the world around youTogether we can create a lasting legacyJoin Arcadis Create a LegacyOur Commitment to Equality Diversity Inclusion BelongingWe want you to be able to bring your best self to work every day which is why we take equality and inclusion seriously and hold ourselves to account for our actions Our ambition is to be an employer of choice and provide a great place to work for all our people We believe that by working together diverse people with different experiences develop the most innovative ideas Equality diversity and inclusion is at the heart of how we improve quality of life and we work closely with our people across six EDI Workstreams Age Disability Faith Gender LGBT and Race A diverse and skilled workforce is essential to our successLIKY1
