Radio Repair amp Programming Technician Schedule 700 AM ndash 400 PM may vary You take pride in a job well done arent afraid of hard work and enjoy being solving problems to fix radio issues What Youll Do Youll program repair and maintain all radio related electronic equipment for the City of Fort Wayne Key Responsibilities Answers and provides service with phone calls to the Radio Shop including handling customer complaints and inquiries Reads and interprets electronics system drawings schematics diagrams and sketches relative to troubleshooting and repair Programs repairs and maintains all conventional and trunked radio equipment Setup and maintain radio access records in the Motorola Provisioning Manager Uses applications within the Motorola NM Client to troubleshoot and diagnose subscribersystem issues Travels to other departmentsremote locations for programmingupdating radios May need to removeinstall mobile radios in vehicles Programs repairs and maintains all paging equipment including the 911 communications paging database What You Bring ndash Education amp Experience A minimum of three years related experience andor training in portablemobile twoway radio or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Certifications Valid Indiana Drivers License Obtain and maintain a background clearance as required Technical Skills amp Knowledge Must have a basic knowledge of ACDC electronics and twoway radio maintenance and programming Knowledge and experience in programming conventional and trunked radios Why Work for the City of Fort Wayne Be part of a team that directly impacts the quality of life in your community bull Consistent schedule with opportunities for overtime bull Handson active work environmentno two days look the same bull Build a longterm career with strong benefits including pension and time off Equal Opportunity Employer
