Engineer II ndash Sewer Schedule 800 AM ndash 500 PM hours may vary Are you a Professional Engineer ready to lead major infrastructure projects and take the next step in your career What Youll Do Youll lead sewer infrastructure projects from concept through constructionguiding teams driving decisions and delivering work that directly impacts public health and city growth Key Responsibilities Lead planning design and construction of sewer capital improvement projects bull Coordinate with operations contractors stakeholders and regulatory agencies bull Oversee system improvements including lift stations septic elimination and inflow reduction bull Supervise staff assign work and ensure quality and progress across projects bull Develop budgets track expenditures and support longterm system planning Supervisory Responsibilities Lead coach and develop Sewer Program staff bull Support hiring training and performance management bull Provide leadership coverage for Engineering management as needed What You Bring Education amp Experience Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related ABETaccredited program bull Seven 7 years of relevant engineering experience bull Strong experience in infrastructure or utility project delivery Preferred Certifications Indiana Professional Engineer PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months bull Valid Indiana Drivers License Technical Skills amp Knowledge Sewer system design hydraulics and construction practices bull Environmental and regulatory compliance NPDES consent decree bull AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS and hydraulic modeling tools Why Work for the City of Fort Wayne Step into a leadership role with real ownership and visibility bull Stable longterm career with pension and strong benefits bull Make a direct impact on infrastructure that serves the community Equal Opportunity Employer
