Your OpportunitynStantec is currently seeking a Mechanical Construction Administrator to join our Buildings Business Unit based in Calgary and delivering projects in the Alberta regionnAs a Construction Administrator you will be part of an integrated multidisciplinary team The CA interprets and administers construction contracts and ensures project work is completed in accordance with the contract documents design drawings and specifications This is achieved through effective management of construction contract administration processes You will be responsible for oversight of the construction phase of projects from contract award through mobilization active construction commissioning turnover closeout and the warranty period The CA may be engaged during the design and preconstruction phases to identify and address potential issues in advance of constructionnThe ideal candidate is a proactive problemsolver with strong technical expertise exceptional communication skills and a passion for building construction that achieves our clients cost schedule quality and safety objectivesn Your Key Responsibilitiesnn Interpret and administer construction contracts and ensure the project work is completed in accordance with the contract documents design drawings and specificationsn Serve as the primary liaison between the engineers and architects owner project managers general contractors subconsultants and other project stakeholders during constructionn Chair construction meetings and prepare meeting minutes or summaries Identify recurring issues design conflicts and potential construction risks escalating critical items to project leadership as appropriate Supporting project leadership including the Project Manager and Design Lead in constructionphase decisionmakingn Management of RFI process including receiving and prioritizing of contractor RFIs Maintain logs track status and ensure timely responses Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews with architects engineers and specialty consultants to obtain comments as required Coordinate design clarifications and technical responses between the contractor and design disciplinesn Review of Contractor submittals including shop drawings product data mockups samples and technical data to ensure conformance with contract documents design drawings and specifications Maintain logs track status and ensure timely responses Coordinate multidisciplinary review comments as requiredn Conduct regular site visits to observe construction progress and validate general conformance of work or to witness testing and commissioning events Monitor workmanship quality Identify and document any deficiencies nonconforming work or quality concerns Prepare field review reports Maintain logs track status and ensure timely responses Verify and corrective action that is noted as completed by the contractor Coordinate multidisciplinary site reviews and reporting as requiredn Monitor construction schedule to maintain a clear understanding of construction progress schedule status and upcoming milestones Track critical path Assess progress against schedule and identify delays and risks including procurement impacts Communicate key updates and risks to the project teamn Manage Change Processes Review proposed changes for schedule impacts Coordinate input for and prepare project change documents including Site Instructions Change Directives Contemplated Change Notices and Change Orders Support evaluation of change order pricingn Coordinate multidisciplinary review comments as required Maintain logs track status and ensure timely responsesn Review progress payment applications and provide recommendations for payment and holdback Verify work completed and validate quantities including stored materials claimsn Provide support during the warranty period Collect warranties Track warranty issues and claims coordinate corrective work and conduct warranty reviews and final warranty inspections to verify repairsn Provide support for turnover documentation and project closeout including reviewing OM manuals training documentation and asbuilt documentation Conduct substantial performance inspections and verify completion of contract requirements Support owner training sessions Coordinate commissioning activities witness equipment testing track commissioning deficiencies and resolution Coordinate final inspections Confirm final testing records Support final payment certificationn
