Your Opportunity nOur Buildings team in Houston TX is seeking an enthusiastic Structural Designer to join our engineering team providing design solutions for a variety of building projects This is an entrylevel opportunity for an individual looking to develop their structural design skills while working alongside experienced engineers and designersnIn this role you will work under the supervision and direction of experienced engineers supporting the development of structural designs drawings models and project documentation You will contribute as a team member on projects of varying size and complexity while gaining practical experience with structural systems building codes design software and project deliveryn Your Key Responsibilities nn Supports project teams in the development of structural design documentation plans models and reportsn Assists in the development of structural designs through sketches electronic models diagrams calculations and other visual formatsn Utilizes BIM technologies to develop threedimensional models of building structural systemsn Prepares and revises drawings and documentation during various project phases including floor plans framing plans diagrams sections and detailsn Performs basic structural calculations for building elements and welldefined structural systems under the guidance of experienced engineersn Assists with coordination of structural designs with architectural and other engineering disciplinesn Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals and preparation of responses to RFIsn Assists with site observations and preparation of field observation reports as neededn Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultantsn Supports project teams with basic cost estimating and value engineering activitiesn Applies applicable design standards building codes and established engineering practices under the direction of experienced engineersn Performs other structural design and project support activities as assignedn
