Stantecs Buildings team is on a mission to become the worlds leading integrated design practice Our architects engineers interior designers consultants sustainability specialists and technologists are passionate about the power of design Our collaborative culture and our innovative sustainable approach to projects help us create buildings that matter to our world Together we are enhancing the quality of life globally through design Join us and design your place with Stantec Your Opportunity As a Mechanical Engineer that will work independently on small and average sized projects and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Engineer You will participate in the evaluation recommendation and specification for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards practices Your Key Responsibilities Evaluate select specify and engineer all mechanical engineered systems or products for a project and assuring work is reviewed for overall technical accuracy Collaborate in person or remotely with team members other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success acting as a project team member or a project leader Engage in the development of a design through sketches electronic models diagrams and other visual formats Utilize BIM technologies in development of threedimensional models of buildings mechanical systems and provide markups for junior engineers designers Prepare and revise documentation in various mechanical phases including site plans floor plans diagrams and details Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members andor external consultants owner and contractor subcontractors and vendors Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating Assist upper level staff with developing and managing the project scope budget staffing and schedule Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents Perform and oversee the development of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects Conduct field reviews of projects during construction to verify conformance with construction documents and provide letters of professional assurance to the applicable authorities having jurisdiction Works on multiple projects
