Your Opportunity nn Our hydropower and dams team is seeking an intermediate level Structural Engineer with a strong academic background in structural engineering and an interest in challenging work related to hydraulic and marine structures dams and renewable energy infrastructure nn The successful candidate will support senior structural engineers in completing structural analysis design calculations drawings specifications and technical reports for concrete dams hydroelectric facilities marine and concrete structures and related infrastructure The role will also include support for project delivery proposal development field services and client presentations nn If you are a quick learner and passion for dams hydropower and structural engineering we encourage you to apply and show us how you can contribute to our team Your Key Responsibilities nn Support a strong safety and quality culture in all aspects of project work n Assist senior hydropower and dam structural engineers in projects involving hydroelectric stations spillways concrete dams and related infrastructure n Complete structural design calculations specifications and technical documentation under the guidance of the senior engineers n Apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to civilstructural design tasks n Support design compliance with applicable codes standards and guidelines including CSA A231 to A234 CSA S16 ACI 318 the National Building Code of Canada and Canadian Dam Association guidelines Working knowledge of the main steel and concrete codes and standards CSA A233 and S16 is required n Use engineering software such as Mathcad STAADPro or SAP2000 to support structural analysis and design n Coordinate with designers and drafters in the preparation of structural drawings for construction n Prepare technical reports memoranda meeting minutes and other project documentation n Support interdisciplinary project teams and collaborate effectively with engineers project managers designers and field staff n Provide field support during construction including site inspections quality monitoring and contract administration support n Manage assigned tasks to meet project cost quality and schedule requirements n Assist with proposal preparation and other business development activities as required n Perform other duties as assigned n Improve Effectivenessnn Work collaboratively with senior engineers and project managers to support planning design drafting coordination bid documents technical specifications and cost estimates n Become familiar with Stantec standards quality procedures and project delivery expectations n Contribute to HSSE goals project performance expectations and personal utilization targets n Communicate clearly and professionally with internal team members and external project stakeholders n Promote the Brandnn Develop awareness of relevant industry associations academic institutions and professional training programs n Support the preparation of technical papers presentations and other knowledgesharing activities where appropriate n Understand Stantecs technical differentiators and contribute to communicating their value to clients n
