Microsoft Cloud Planning MCP is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
- Perform rough-cut capacity planning in conjunction with Server, Network, and Component management and supply smoothing to define the Supply Plan of Record, translating this into long-term 1-4 years supply plans for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Suppliers.
- Provide clear reporting insights and analytics on demand forecast accuracy, volatility, and execution to the Supply Plan of Record, working with Capacity Planning and Operations teams to identify root causes and implement solutions to mitigate issues.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Capacity Planning teams on the timing and availability of product transitions to plan for platform end of life minimizing E&O inventory and ramp up of new platforms.
- Define inventory buffer targets in collaboration with Component Planning and strategies based on historical usage and forecast, articulating financial risks/liabilities associated with said buffers.
- Perform scenario analysis to understand the impact of component shortages, demand upside/downside, etc., on the Supply Plan of Record.
- Partner with systems engineering teams to develop a supply planning automation roadmap to support increasing scale and complexity.
- Measure supply planning inputs, drive demand plan accountability, and set supportability expectations with capacity planning teams.
