Position Overview The Transportation Supervisor is a hands-on operational leader responsible for overseeing the full cycle of transportation and dispatch activities in a fast-paced, flight-sensitive environment. This role coordinates drivers, driver helpers, dispatchers, guides, dock personnel, vehicles, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time flight service. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, makes sound decisions in real time, and leads with authority, professionalism, and composure. This individual will take ownership of operational results, staffing coverage, overtime management, safety compliance, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong working relationships across the operation. Responsibilities Oversee daily transportation, dispatch, dock, ramp, and logistics activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time flight service. Monitor active flights and operational activity in real time, identify at-risk departures, and initiate immediate corrective action when delays or service disruptions occur. Ensure drivers have confirmed flight assignments and that all required dispatch system entries are completed before the estimated time of departure. Coordinate closely with dispatchers, drivers, driver helpers, guides, dock personnel, airline representatives, and internal departments to maintain service quality and delivery schedules. Lead shift briefings, communicate operational priorities, and ensure employees understand their assignments, responsibilities, and safety expectations. Provide direct, hands-on supervision during peak operational periods and redistribute resources as needed to address bottlenecks, staffing shortages, and delayed flights. Manage shift handoffs and ensure accurate communication regarding flight activity, staffing, vehicles, equipment, delays, incidents, and outstanding operational concerns. Plan, prepare, and publish employee schedules while ensuring appropriate staffing coverage based on operational and flight demands. Manage callouts, absences, leave requests, and schedule changes proactively to minimize disruption to the operation. Monitor employee hours and overtime daily, adjust staffing to reduce unnecessary overtime, and report trends or concerns to management.
