Information Technology Asset Management Analyst Job Description An information technology asset manager analyst is responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT assets, such as hardware, software, and licenses, in an organization. The main duties of an IT asset manager analyst include: Tracking and monitoring the inventory, location, status, and usage of IT assets Ensuring compliance with IT policies, standards, and contracts Optimizing the utilization and performance of IT assets Identifying and resolving issues related to IT assets Planning and executing the disposal, replacement, or upgrade of IT assets Preparing and maintaining reports and documentation on IT assets Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to support IT projects and initiatives To be successful as an IT asset management analyst, you should have the following skills and qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience 2 years of work experience, to include experience in at least one of the following disciplines: distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, customer service, inventory control or other comparable service line Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, tools, and frameworks Proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, and IT asset management software Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Knowledge of supply chain best practices, such as lean management, just-in-time delivery, and quality management systems Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders in the supply chain Ability to use supply chain software and tools, such as Service Now Hardware Asset Management HAM, CMDB, and barcode scanners Experience in warehouse and stockroom management, including inventory control, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance.
