The Windows Silicon & System Integration WSSI team is driving the next generation of AI experiences on Windows. As AI workloads increasingly run on-device across CPU, GPU, and NPU architectures, ensuring consistent quality, accuracy, performance, power efficiency, and reliability across a diverse silicon ecosystem is critical.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Validation team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating emerging AI models and experiences on Windows devices, enabling support for new generations of silicon, and building the validation infrastructure that helps Microsoft deliver high-quality on-device AI experiences at scale.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a passion for AI systems, performance analysis, automation, and solving complex cross-hardware challenges.

Responsibilities
Lead validation of on-device AI models and experiences across Windows platforms and silicon partners.
Evaluate model accuracy, performance, power, scalability, and functional correctness across diverse hardware configurations.
Drive bring-up and readiness of AI models on next-generation silicon platforms, working closely with Microsoft and silicon partner engineering teams.
Develop, enhance, and maintain validation frameworks, automation infrastructure, and performance analysis tools to support evolving AI model architectures.
Build solutions that enable efficient benchmarking and comparison of AI workloads across CPU, GPU, and NPU execution environments.
Analyze telemetry, traces, and validation data to identify regressions, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.
Collaborate with AI researchers, platform engineers, silicon partners, and product teams to ensure successful deployment of new AI capabilities on Windows.
Design automated quality gates and validation methodologies that scale across models, hardware platforms, and operating system releases.
Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of model accuracy, compatibility, performance, and reliability issues.
Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team through design reviews, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
